RELATION "ONE WORD"

There is an estimated 1,025,109.8 words in the English language, according to the Global Language Monitor in 2014. In this senior English class I am a part of, I was asked to pick one word for this "one word" assignment. This word was supposed to be of importance to us. It could have been a reflective word for ourselves or our senior year. This "one word" could be something of value to us for any reason. I am sure that in this class of seniors, I could not even come close to realizing the reasons people chose these words. I chose, for my "one word," "relation."

I want a better RELATION with the God that created me. I want to do whatsoever He would bid me do! The devil, we fight daily, throws, with pleasure, upon us these little whimsical desires that, if we gave in, would: pull us form God; distract us from His will; spiritually blind us from what God has for us and from what is right or wrong. Why, in any aspect, would I do the will of someone who hates my guts and wants to steal, kill, and destroy from me? I have a God that would stop the sun for my feeble existence of a man. ME!

I have a God that created every beautiful thing around us. He created all of these beautiful things and us, even the unbelievers, for our pleasure. I have a RELATION with my Lord, but any relation with Him is too far away. I want to be as close to Him as I possibly can, on this gorgeous creation of Earth that we live in. I cannot wait to see my Lord  and Savior face-to-face some glorious day. Oh, the joy and excitement of that moment. I know that without a RELATION, I won't get there, in the least.

The part of RELATION that really speaks out to me, in my RELATIONSHIP with Jesus, is that a RELATION is two-sided. God loves me more than anything, but until I can truly love him with everything He's given me, it is not even a RELATIONSHIP. RELATIONS, where do yours lie? There is only one can get us anywhere.

Spring Break free blog

During my spring break, I went to Florida and went to Disney World. It was the busiest vacation I've ever ventured on. My grandma and my pawpaw, parents of my step mother, bought plane tickets and Disney passes for eleven people, themselves, two: my uncle Justin and his family, four: and my family at my dad's, five. We all boarded the plan on the way to Disney. Multiple people, me being one of them, on this trip hadn't ever flown before, but were soon about to venture, unknown, into one of the most beautiful adventures we had ever partaken of. Just the sight above the clouds was gorgeous beyond prior belief. It was, honestly, my favorite part of the whole trip. I was simply and whole heartedly thanking God for the allowance He granted me for the view of this mighty creation the whole flight.

The trip started on the beautiful flight, but definitely did not end there. After we arrived at the landing port, we rode on a trolley to get to the departing station where we were to ride the bus, to get to the resort. My soul filled with expectancy for many things, both good and bad. My back had become sweaty and my stomach had become hungry, but we had not even reached the resort. As we finally made it to the Disney resort, Saratoga Springs, my stomach had begun to digest what was not there to digest. Therefore, my stomach was trying to eat me.

The hotel room was very pretty and was fully furnished. I thought that was a great addition to the room. I'm positively sure that those who paid for the room made assure that we could cook and save money, according to the price that was paid. There were groceries that were ordered from a company that delivered groceries to Disney for us. I thought that was pretty awesome. I may be simply amused, but I had never seen that before. Now that we had arrived at the room, things were not yet accomplished for the day. My insides were still not appeased in the least.

We went to a place called "Downtown Disney" that is full of shopping centers and eating commodities. We soon appeased the dictator that forcefully controls our simple lives, hunger. Needless to say, the week at Disney World, in Florida, on Spring Break was en eventful time that I doubt I will ever forget. I know that the expenses are too many for some, including me! I was so blessed with someone that paid for my trip and flight. There are many memories that go along with this emotional trip: good; bad; happy; sad; exciting; wet(soaked); and many. many more. If you can afford the rip, I highly recommend it to be on your list of "to-dos."

Batesville High School History Reflection

It has been a long process. The process that has been undergoing the completion of this project has taken quite a while due to my lack of time and I'm shamed to say, lack of motivation. It has been bumpy at times. The hardest part of this assignment was gathering the data to inform the reader with, and to find data/facts/quotes that would be both interesting and relevant. This was the challenge.

During the research process, the whole senior English 12 class went to the Old Independence County museum. This first trip that we all took as a group was, sadly, a failure for me personally. I didn't know what to look for; consequently, I found not a thing during the first trip to this history bank. I went again after I discovered some topics that were discovered by Mrs. Gillmore, my hard working and dedicated instructor of English. I then saw some interesting topics that might be of my interest for the assignment. I went to the museum, with topics on my brain and an idea of how to find these sources, on a Sunday after I went to church and ate. The librarian was a tad sassy, but helpful nonetheless. I learned quite a bit about the old Independence county and what it used to be. I also learned of some older customs that the school used to hold. These things sparked my interest.

I read some interesting and funny stories of the old school and those who dwelt in it. One of which was a story I read about the basketball team of the season of 1929 that played the Arkansas School for the Deaf. The team of Batesville High School lost significantly, but the humility didn't end there; furthermore, Coach Ward was recorded saying, "it was a case of the dumb playing the deaf." This story might have been the funniest thing I read during the whole research process. I like comedy and funny things; therefore, this caught my attention and made it to my first paragraph.

Finally, to conclude this blog with a reflection of the whole process and non completion of this history book of Batesville High School and its previous years of vibrancy and how it came to be the excellence that it is today. Though my slothfulness has become to reach for me a bad grade, I do have a positive outlook on this exploration. It is always interesting to see the process of progression among things that are of importance or even the simple things that we are apart of. To be completely honest, I thought the mere idea of this book and lazy students writing it with a deadline was insane, but somehow, it has come along. All in all, this assignment could have helped my grade and it has gained me some interesting, but mostly useless knowledge. I like that kind of stuff. This was a fair idea after all.

Senior Year Reflection

In this short period time during my first 1/4 of my senior year, i have accomplished some minor things. I have improved greatly in some subjects. For example, I have grown in my Spanish language skills, a better knowledge of the grammar, and the speaking of this wonderful language. I am determined to learn this language and I am on the right path with Coach Wentz, The Spartan, as my guide. I have a heart to learn this language and with a leader like no other, I am striving to get there.

In the next several months I hope to achieve a greater sense of work towards school. My grades are the lowest they have been in a very long time and I am very displeased. I know that the one at fault for this unsatisfactory is me only; therefore, the only thing to do is to do it.

This will help me in the future, because one day I want to be a person that no matter what I do, I will know how to excel. Whether it be my church going or whether it be my job success. I ultimately want to know how to learn so that my experiences will be without a struggle, as little problems as possible.

Malala Yousafzai

In the article about Malala, in the 3rd paragraph it states, "

Ms. Yousafzai, noting that she was proud to be wearing a shawl that had once belonged to Benazir Bhutto, spoke in a calm, self-assured voice as she delivered her first major speech since she was shot on the left side of her head Oct. 9 on her way home from school in Pakistan’s Swat Valley." The shawl of the woman of whom it previously had belonged to had been shot as well as Malala had been. this goes to show that the freedoms of public free schooling is something that is of great importance. Not everyone has this privilege. Some have to fight for it.as Malala  and many others have.
In Malala's speech, in the body, she tells of how her influences "  Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Gandhi and Mother Teresa" have Lead her to enter onto a peaceful journey to free education for all. She has begun on peaceful travels towards a goal that she sees possible. Ms. Yousafzai sees this goal in her future and knows that it is possible. though others have lost all visions of change, she sees this coming to pass. She knows of the possibilities of a peaceful protest and prays and searches for the ultimate goal of an education. education is powerful and Malala strives to see this freedom for all humans in every place.

The time I went to the the Museum
The exciting, absolutely wonderful trip to the Old Regional Independence County Museum was very informational. Ashamed to say, I have never been previous to my trip with you. 'Twas quite interesting to learn and hear of the history of the wonderful town of Batesville, Arkansas, in which I live. Much like the journey into Mrs. Gillmore's room, we have begun on a quest of wisdom and knowledge. Knowledge we absorb in her class, same as the information we have taken to our spongy little brains.

We took upon this journey to learn about our assigned years for information for the book the we have to write. i have been assigned the very exciting school session of 1928-1929. I did not learn much. For the years accounted for in this session were at a time when the roaring 20's were about to come to a screeching hault. I did in fact learn some about how the school functioned at a time such as this and that the football team had a winning season. how much this will help me, I am not sure of, but it is a start.

The direction I plan to take is yet unknown. I have many choices. i have yet to find any influential personnel or any exciting facts about the session of schooling in these years. But I do know that the years i am assigned will be found out about. The hidden mysteries of the late 1920's will be undone.

Malaysian Flight MH370

Malaysian Flight MH370
By: Isaiah Huffman
The Malaysian Flight MH370, a missing airplane that brought with it a huge mystery, was wrecked and lost due to a mechanical fault. According to Ong Hwee Hwee, an assistant news editor, "It emerged on Sunday that the plane had made an unusual U-turn attempt in the final moments before radar contact was broken off, triggering speculation that it could have turned back because of mechanical fault," in the article "Missing Malaysia Airlines plane: 5 theories on what could have happened to MH370." When you have a mechanical difficulty the plain has to routinely turn around and come back to the original airportthat the plane belongs to. Thus, having a mechanical difficulty, this could have been just added on top of the fact that the plane was simply malfunctional. In the articleAhmad Jauhari Yahya said, "When there is an air turn-back, the pilot would be unable to proceed as planned." Meaning that this plane would have turned around in this ATB (air turn-back) with no probable way to make it to the destination. Hence, this flight was too far for the damaged plane and was canceledOpposing this, "
